Supporting Ukrainian Refugees

As the crisis in Ukraine intensifies, the need of desperate for clothing, food and essentials for civilians and families continues to grow. When the Wall Heath Community Centre began their appeal for donations, Carol from our Kingswinford branch reached out to offer our helping hand.

We went and purchased £325 worth of items including toiletries, towels, blankets, air beds, torches, baby formula, medicine, nappies and delivered them to the centre, where volunteers, including Carol, organised the collection, arranging, packing and transport of the much needed items to those in need.

In total we donated £2,000 towards the humanitarian appeal for support, as the remaining funds were sent to the United Nations humanitarian aid organisation, UNICEF, who are working hard to protect children and families in Ukraine. £46 could help provide a family with emergency water and a hygiene kit and £80 can purchase school supplies to support at least 20 children continue their education.

We’re always grateful to have the opportunity to help and support in any way we can and will continue to assist our local communities.
