Why it's worth reviewing your ISA now

The ISA landscape continues to change, creating new opportunities for savers to review how their money is working for them.

With competitive rates available and simplified transfer processes, reviewing your ISA now can help ensure you’re making the most of your tax-free savings and annual allowance.

At Dudley Building Society, we believe informed decisions lead to confident savings and confident savers are better placed to achieve their savings goals!

What is changing with ISAs?

While ISAs remain one of the most effective ways to save tax‑free, recent Government changes mean that some restrictions are coming from April 6, 2027:

  • Reduced Cash ISA Limit for Under 65s - The annual Cash ISA limit will decrease to £12,000 for savers under 65, while the total overall ISA allowance remains £20,000. To utilise the full £20,000, savers must split the remaining £8,000 across other types like Stocks & Shares or Innovative Finance ISAs.
  • Over 65s Cash ISA Limit will not be impacted - Savers aged 65 or older by April 6, 2027, can continue to deposit the full £20,000 into a Cash ISA
  • Under-65 transfer restriction: Individuals under 65 will no longer be able to transfer money from Stocks and Shares ISAs and innovative finance ISAs into Cash ISAs. This ban does not apply to transfers between Cash ISAs.
