Branches donate £2,500 to local causes

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, it's not surprising that the number of people living in poverty across the Black Country has increased. So, we've been dedicated to giving back to our local communities this Christmas.

Each of our five local branches have purchased £500 worth of gifts and donations for a local charity of their choice. The chosen charities were the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, The Brierley Hill Baby Bank, Santa’s Black Country Toy Appeal, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity and The Haven Refuge.

Members help to support vulnerable families at Christmas

The Black Country Food Bank came to our principal office to collect items that both our employees and members donated over in the weeks leading up to Christmas. We were delighted to see how many had gone above and beyond to donate to those in need.

It was all hands on deck to load the items into the van, which will make a big difference to those struggling in the local community this Christmas. Thank you to everybody who contributed!

The JW Hunt Cup

The JW Hunt Cup Charity football competition was formed in 1926 to raise funds for the sole benefit of the local blind. We donated £500 to their annual campaign, which raises funds for The Beacon Centre for the Blind.

Despite the rain, we were honoured to go to the Molineux Stadium to present them with our cheque!

Supporting our NSPCC Helpline professionals

Providing advice and support to those who are concerned about a child can often be emotionally challenging for our NSPCC Helpline Birmingham professionals.

To support their wellbeing and provide a relaxing space between shifts, we recently donated two sofas for their new staff room.

The Brierley Hill Babybank urgent appeal

The Brierley Hill Babybank are an amazing team of volunteers who rely on grants and donations to provide essential items, resources and support to families in Brierley Hill and the surrounding areas.

When we knew they were in need of some donations, Society colleagues went above and beyond to donate and collect items from their family and friends - from prams and Moses baskets, to toiletries and clothes.

Thank you so much to the team for collecting the items from our Kingswinford branch and helping us give back to our local community!
