Dudley Building Society hosts football tournament to support new Charity of the

Dudley Building Society has raised an impressive £2,850 for its new Charity of the Year, Dudley Mind. The Society hosted a corporate 5 a side football tournament on 24th September 2019 at Goals Dudley.

The tournament was a huge success attracting Society partners: Concept Financial Services, Connells, FBC Manby Bowdler, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and QualitySolicitors Davisons. The Society also received generous donations for Dudley Mind from Formulate Adaptive and CIPHR.

Dudley Mind were selected as Charity of the Year by the Society’s employee forum from a shortlist of nominations. Dudley Mind are a local mental health charity that aim to improve and promote recovery and wellbeing for those affected by poor mental health in the Dudley borough. The Society, which has a team of Mental Health First Aiders, is committed to raising awareness of mental health and reducing the stigma.

Chairman of Dudley Mind, Dave Tyler who attended the football tournament said:

“It is great to see a local, prominent company supporting Dudley Mind. We are extremely grateful for all the support and to all the partners of DBS that have come along to this fantastic event”

The tournament was played with a fun but competitive edge, with the winning team being PwC who were awarded a trophy and medals from Goals.
