New Year Support for Black Country Foodbank

New Year Support for Black Country Foodbank

7th January 2019

Dudley Building Society has been collecting donations from staff and its members over recent weeks to make a bumper new year donation to the Black Country Foodbank, to help replenish depleted stocks over the festive period.

Chief Executive, Jeremy Wood, said, ‘The festive period can be such a challenge for local families to put food on the table, forcing foodbanks to come under additional pressure. We thought it would be helpful to collect for Black Country Foodbank to support in making sure their stock levels are healthy to enable them to continue the amazing work that they do locally.’

The handover of the items took place at the Society’s Brierley Hill branch on behalf of staff and members of the Society.

Black Country Foodbank Spokesperson, Mike Crook commented ‘We have had some great support over the months in the run up to the festive period, really reflecting the generosity of local people. Our challenge is now to encourage donations between now and the summer months’.

Information about how to donate can be found at blackcountryfoodbank.org.uk or by calling 01384 671250.
