Dudley Building Society Celebrates - 150 Years and Counting

150 Yr Staff

“Dudley Building Society Head Office staff Jackie Quinton, Luke Proctor and Lorraine Breese celebrate the Society’s 150 years by serving in period costume”

Dudley Building Society has marked its official 150th Anniversary and staff across its branch network celebrated by dressing up in period costume and decorating the banking halls – as well as inviting members to a special evening to commemorate the occasion.

The Society, which was founded by members of
the Tanfield family in 1858 has seen business continue to flourish of late as increasing numbers of local people look to the Dudley as a safe and trusted organisation.

The traditional values and levels of customer
service which made building societies different
have remained constant during the 150 years
since the Society’s first premises opened in Wolverhampton Street and today more than
two thirds of Dudley Building Society members live locally.

With over a fifth of the Dudley’s sixty-eight staff
able to boast service of twenty years or more,
there is a genuine family feel to the Society’s
branches and Head Office – a comment which is
often made by customers.

To mark the occasion and as a thank you, the Society held its AGM at the Black Country Living Museum and invited members to come along and enjoy an evening at one of the area’s leading.

Chief Executive Geoff Caves said:

“The longevity of Dudley Building Society can be attributed to our philosophy of providing excellent, no-nonsense products and the very best customer service and after sales care.  The support we continue to receive from members using the Society’s branches confirms that convenience and high levels of service remain as important to them as they do to us.

“To show our gratitude we have invited members to come along to the Black Country Museum and celebrate with us.

“The future for Dudley Building Society is safe and exciting – we are seeing busier branches thanks to people’s increased emphasis on qualities such as stability and security as well as convenience.”
