Being such an integral part of the Black Country for over 150 years, we wanted to do a little something to give back to those celebrating the Black Country Festival this year. Proud sponsors of ‘Party in the Square’, we were delighted to have such a presence on the day.
Stone Street Square was thriving with live music on stage and plenty of people milling around in the sunshine. Our Stone Street branch was busy throughout the whole day, with lots of little ones eager to get their faces painted in branch (we had a line out the door!) We had some rather convincing witches and a couple of passionate supporters representing the Black Country with their faces painted with Black Country flags.
To get the crowd going we had a visit from the Fizzogs who attracted the attention of many passers-by with a short comedy sketch outside the branch!
We had an amazing surprise for many of our Members, in the shape of a big blue dragon! Taking his first steps out in public, Dudley the Dragon had a fantastic welcome by all. Children and adults alike were attracted to his fun loving nature and amazing presence. Keep a look out as he will be making many more appearances!
All in all we had a fantastic day, with both current and potential Members enjoying the branch for more than their financial transactions.
