Five-week old Oliver Jones was the centre of attention as Dudley Building Society’s Perton branch celebrated its fourth anniversary when he became the branch’s 4,000th customer.
The Dudley’s Perton branch opened in 2007, maintaining a building society service for local residents who had lost their previous provider and the community has continued to show strong support for the Society.
This support was highlighted by the happy coincidence of the 4,000th savings account being opened at Perton in the same month the Society marked its fourth anniversary.
It was even more pleasing when it emerged that baby Oliver’s First Account happened to be number 4,000, as Branch Manager Carl Fletcher explained:
“We knew that the landmark account was set to coincide with the fourth anniversary so we decided that we would mark the occasion by offering the account holder a little something as a gesture of appreciation for the wonderful support we receive from local members.
“When we realised that Oliver’s account was the one, we felt it was very apt. His mom, dad and sister are all members, they live in Perton and they are a lovely family. It seems fitting that a savings account that has been opened to help build a future nest egg for a new baby should be the one – it epitomises what a local building society is all about, offering convenience, friendly service and safe, straightforward accounts that help people to save in a way that suits them.”
Oliver’s dad Daniel Jones said:
“It was a nice gesture by Dudley Building Society to present Oliver with a Mothercare voucher. The family has accounts with the Dudley, we find it handy and the staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful, exactly how a building society should be!”
